The Art Of Creating Ceremony
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You don’t need a perfect script to lead powerful ceremony. You need a clear intention, a well-held container, and the skills to guide people through real emotion without leaving them raw or ungrounded. We share a webinar replay that opens the door to what we teach inside our six-week intensive training, The Art of Creating Ceremony, and we make it practical for anyone called to facilitate circles, rituals, or community gatherings.
We talk about why ceremony helps people drop the mask, speak from the heart, and feel truly seen and heard. Then we get specific about what makes facilitation ethical and effective: trauma-informed spaceholding, consent and boundaries, energetic hygiene, psychic protection, and the often-missed step of integration time at the end so participants can ground what moved. We also cover the real-world facilitator mechanics that matter just as much as the mysticism, like timekeeping, managing oversharing, and creating clear sharing prompts that keep a group connected.
From moon circles to elemental rituals, we walk through ceremony styles you can adapt to your own voice: new moon manifestation and full moon release, cacao ceremony as heart-centered plant medicine, Reiki-infused circles, sound baths, shamanic drum circles, and money mindset candle ceremonies including building money bowls with herbs and intention. We also explain how practice and feedback build confidence faster than theory, and how our training structure supports you as you step from student to facilitator.
If you’re ready to create sacred space that’s grounded, safe, and deeply transformational, listen now and then subscribe, share this with a friend who leads circles, and leave a review so more people can find the work.

I'm your host, Christine Renee, and today we're joined with Chantel Ochoa for a webinar replay. So we did a webinar on the art of creating ceremony, and it's a free mini training that we offered. And I wanted to be able to put it on the podcast as well as on YouTube so that you could too could watch the replay. So know that this is our free demo, free exampler of what we're going to be covering in our six-week intensive training, The Art of Craft Creating Ceremonies. So if you have any questions about that program, feel free to reach out and do check the show notes for the link and let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching. We're here coming together for this presentation. And um, I am going to take just a nice deep breath. I'm going to invite you to do the same. Inhaling through the nose, exhaling through the mouth, releasing and letting go of what no longer serves you in this time and in this moment. Flowing it out. One more. Entering into our sacred space for this evening. You can almost smell that pulsanto. Mm-hmm. Let's feel that shift. Yeah, feel that shift. Totally. I'm gonna go ahead and let you start us off, Chantel.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well, welcome everyone. I am so excited that you are here, and I'm super excited to be able to offer the art of creating ceremonies. So this is something that um is near and dear to what I do in my personal life and my practice. And um, I don't know if you've been seeing my posts lately, but I really do believe that everything can be created into a ceremony. I do believe that life is a ceremony and that we're only limited by our own, like our own limitations, right? So it's it's just you birthing what you want to put out into the world and what your voice has to say. So I don't want you to feel like that only certain people can do this. This is absolutely open to everyone. And so um, welcome to the Art of Creating Ceremony.
SPEAKER_01So we want to just do a moment of introductions. And so um both Chantel and I have got a background in being ceremonialists in some capacity, facilitators and lots of capacities. And so I have been offering ceremony for uh probably well over 10, 15 years. Like I can't even remember exactly how it started. It could probably started because of demand. People started asking me, will you please, will you please, will you please? And it continues to this day. I still have people who are now like, all right, I love these ceremonies. Will you please do the new moon and full moon circle ceremonies? I'm like, if I could figure out my schedule, like if the moon would just get on a regular schedule with me, it would be fine. But it doesn't work like that with astrology. Um, but I it I find that ceremony is something that I feel at peace with. It feels like I love coming into a space and welcoming people in intentionally into a space to really truly drop into who they are. I I love when people can come into a circle and go, I'm gonna drop the mask away. I'm gonna drop my my like almost like the the little act of I need to be this bubbly person or whatever it is for for for you, of just like, I actually can just be exactly who I am with all of the emotion that's present. And when we can come into those types of circles and those kinds of spaces, I feel like I'm doing such an act of service to help support people be truly who they are and all of their vulnerabilities and all of their passions, all of their purpose, all of all of it. And so there's a lot of different kinds of circles that I've hosted in the past. And I keep fine-tuning exactly what kind of ceremonies I want to be offering. I've been doing a lot of a lot of um different kinds of ceremonies as of recently. And but it always comes to that piece of I want to see you. I want to see you, I want to see your soul shine. And when your soul shines, even if it's a hot mess shining, doesn't matter. I light up. Like I feel like I love holding rock solid space for people's emotions and processes. And the what we do in the ceremonial space allows for more of that you to come forward. And so that's really why I love doing ceremony. And I know Chantel has her own unique story with ceremonies, but I I'm I'm I can almost bet like that that's part of her flavor as well.
Creativity And Flow In Facilitation
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it definitely is. Um, I love the part of being able to see people for who they are, and that really is what it is is when you come to ceremony, when you have people that come to ceremony, the it's an opportunity for them to drop the facade, to drop the mask, to be vulnerable, to be seen, to be heard, to um to create connections with people within their community. And so what I really love about facilitating it is it allows me to be creative. It allows me to let the teacher come out, to let the facilitator, the to be in ceremony, to actually like like do you want to work with herbs, do you want to work with candles, you want to burn this, you want to do that, do you want to work with cards, like whatever it is that I feel creative in the moment? Because to be honest with you, like I do moon ceremony every month. That's one of my consistence. And I do not plan my ceremony till the day of. Like, I just let whatever energy is of the day, whatever channeling that I'm meant to do, that's how I set up my moon ceremonies. I'm like, what is energetically happening and what do people need to know now? And so um some might think that's a little risky when you have, you know, a houseful coming. You know, you got 20, 25 people showing up, and you're like, what am I gonna do? But it always works and it's always in flow. And so it's creating the altars, it's putting together the colors and the textures and whatever we're gonna create, and people then can come and they themselves they can tune into their inner child and be playful, they can laugh, they can smile, they can cry. And it for me, just running having ceremonies and knowing that this is something that I can offer every month is so rewarding. And it it upscales my business as well. So not only am I in service to others, but as a business, I know that I'm also connecting with them on a deeper level because people then want to come and they want to have one-on-one sessions, they want to go deeper with themselves. And I think that's what um for me really catches me on it. It's like, how deep can we go? Let's go even deeper than that, you know, and people really respond to it. And so once it was like, let's put together this facilitating program, I'm like, yes, let's do that because there's so much to offer with ceremonies. And I'm really excited to get into this so that you can see um just a little piece of what's going to be offered over the six weeks that we go through this course.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. And I feel like for myself, like when I put together a ceremony, it's what's really on my heart and on my soul of like what I want to be doing. It's like almost like it feeds me just as much as it feeds the rest of the circle. Like I woke up just the other morning and I was like feminine rage. And I'm like, oh, I need to have a cacao ceremony on this. Like, like part of it, it's just like it's a way of your own personal expression of your truth, and it can be unique. And I think that's what I love about offering ceremony is that what whatever you put together, what's really true for you, even if it is spontaneous, it's exactly meeting people where they're at and how they're coming forward. And so it can be just this really co-creative process with the divine. And I love that co-creative portion of it, of whether it's you're you're developing it the day before or two weeks before. It's like, I feel like I'm in this process. I'm like, okay, now I have the topic. And now what? What is gonna come? And here's this element, here's this thing that needs to come forward. Oh, we need to have this candle part portion. Like how it comes together is exactly what the the participants show up for. Like, they don't necessarily know what they're getting into, but they're in it. They know that that I'm gonna bring it. And when I have that whole group, at some point there's tears and there's laughter and there's screaming or whatever it may be. It's like that emotional release is like, yes, that is what we're here for. We're here to really allow ourselves to process and to feel the motion and to move through it. And it's just such a powerful experience.
SPEAKER_00And this is what's available to everyone here. So when you take this, this is what's available for you to step into as a facilitator to be able to host this kind of transformation, this kind of movement for your community, whether you do it online or in person, right? But when you're in person, you get to have that um in-person contact. You know, you get to be in circle with them, like smaller circles and intimate gatherings. And so it's something that's not just like we're gonna come and teach, and it's just us at a talking point. No, it's like together we are co-creating this. And that's what I really love about it too, is know that yes, you're the one that's you're the one that's choosing whatever the intention is, but that intention is being is being co-created by everyone who shows up energetically. So it's what is needed, like when she's talking about the divine, it's like it's almost like this net gets casted out there, and your consciousness grabs whatever is ready to be pulled into space, into ceremony, and you go, that's it. That's what I'm gonna work with, that's what I want to bring forward. And the right people show up, and they're like, Oh my gosh, don't even know how much I needed this, right? And everyone will have some kind of common thread within the ceremony that's showing up because that is exactly where they were led. And so being aligned with your ceremonies is so important because the people are there to not only learn from you, but to teach you. And so that's important to know too. This is a give and take. You're gonna learn as much from the people that attend your ceremonies as they're gonna learn from you. And it's just, yeah. So that's the invitation for you as a facilitator to really step into that and to own it and know that you get to bring forward such medicine that the right people are gonna be there just for you to receive it from you. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01So, what we're gonna be covering tonight is the intention of ceremony, the role of the facilitators, the different kinds of ceremonies that are being offered, and then putting it into practice. And then at the very end, we will be giving doing a giveaway scholarships as well as answering any questions.
SPEAKER_00So the intention of the ceremony is obviously there's a lot, but um, first is to guide others to the depth of themselves to through ceremony and ritual. Because really, when you sit in ceremony and ritual, like I was saying earlier, it's such a vulnerable space to be sometimes that it's only in ceremony where people allow themselves to fully go deep into themselves. They're being guided, they're being led, and they're also being surrounded by those who are doing it. So they're mirroring each other. And so it's a great opportunity for people to come in and let those layers peel away, let themselves shine, let themselves pull off those masks to um establish you as a leader and a trusted guide in your work. So this is to create relationships with people so that they trust you as a leader, they trust you as a teacher, they trust you as a healing practitioner. Like they come to you because they're like, you know what? I like what she puts down, I like how she shows up, I love the energy that she carries. And so you're establishing that within your community as a leader, a facilitator, a ceremonialist, however you want to put it, you get to show up. And that is what people keep coming back for every month, month after month. They're just gonna show up because it's the relationship that you have with them. And then um deepens the relationships and trust with your community. And that's kind of what I was saying is you're really deepening that relationship. Kristen, you want to read the last two?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. So, part of the intention of ceremony is to build a purpose-driven business rooted in connection and service. And this is so incredibly true of how when we come together in ceremony, this is a smaller price point than our typical sessions. And so it's a way that people can come and meet your energy where you're at. And this is literally how I built my in-person business years ago, where it was like, here's a smaller offering. This is what I'm this is you get to know me, you get to know my energy, you get to know how I do things. And then people are like, love that, want more. How else can I work with you? And from that place, it's like, well, then what is the upsell? Right. And so it's like there's sessions, there's retreats, there's mentorship, there's Reiki classes, there's all these things that I could then connect them into if they wanted to work with me on a more intimate level, right? And so it really was a fantastic way to build your business. And so that is part of the program of really recognizing when you get consistent in your local offerings, then your business and your clientele gets to grow as well. And so this is about aligning you with new clients and the community. And by doing so, you're in an alignment to be of service. And one of my favorite, you know, recognitions as a ceremonialist is that I come in in servitude of the divine. Like I am cloaking myself in the surrender to I am here to be witness, I'm here to be of service, I'm here to connect. And when I'm in that energetic flow, everything flows better. Everything is more in alignment for myself personally in my own personal life as well as in my business. And so this is a really wonderful way to regularly come into this divine alignment to attract your new clientele. And so it can be really a phenomenal experience, a magical experience of like, I have no idea how this person found me. And yet they saw the flyer, they saw the post, they saw whatever. And now they're here and they're asking for the next thing. And I remember having a client that came to one of my guided meditation ceremonies, and she was like, Well, what else? Can I do a session? Can I hire you to come do a retreat for me? Can I? I'm like, Yes, yes, yes, yes. And it all felt like divine timing. And so we have to make ourselves available to be able to have the the universe, the divine spirit source to bring us the people who are meant for us.
SPEAKER_00And it's important to recognize that part because when you are available, they do show up, right? And sometimes it feels like in our awakening or our teachings or learnings, like we're being rushed through it. Like I with my experience, mine was just learn, learn, learn. And so it was like, why am I going through it was such a huge transition in my life when I really started learning everything that I teach now? And it's because the people were all coming. And that's that's where I want where I want you to put yourself is know that they are already aligned to meet you. And it's just they're just waiting for you to show up. And it's kind of like what Debbie was saying when she first got on. She's like, I got teachers knocking on my door. Yeah, because they're waiting for you to show up to do the ceremony or to do the session or whatever to open up your own business. So when you can trust in that energy, know that the opportunities will show up for you.
SPEAKER_01So the role of the facilitator is really to be a spaceholder, to recognize that your energy that you show up in is going to be imprinted into the space. And your energy, so you have to have this really clear self-awareness of I'm coming forward as a facilitator, as a ceremonialist to hold solid space for everyone and their energy and what they're going to be going through in this process. So that's a real key factor in the role of the facilitator and making sure that that space is being held in an ethical way, in a trauma-informed way. And this is something that I am really keenly, strongly aware of, is because oftentimes those elements are not in everyone's awareness. And so this is something that I really like to bring forward in all of our trainings here at Moonrising Shamanic Institute because trauma is a real thing. And we often, as facilitators, are attracting people who hold trauma in their bodies, hold trauma in their past. And how can we allow them to make decisions that feel good for them and participate to the level in which they're ready for and not push them into a being re-triggered and trauma traumatized place? And so these are conversations that are really important for us to have and keeping it ethical as well. And so while we are doing that, we also need to have this energetic hygiene and space clearing, like really recognizing how are we preparing the space and how do we support the space during and after the ceremony. So, like as you come in as a facilitator, you're energetically aware of the room. You know what's in the field. And you can see that as people release energetically, I'm over overdoing my thing, but I'm also energetically like offering whatever releases are going down to the earth. I'm calling in my spirit helpers, I'm calling in the team of energy supporters on the other side, if you will, to support the energetic space to make sure it is consistently being held appropriately. So we could be doing big energy releases and how do we hold keep the space clean. And so it's really important to have that awareness. And that's going to be part of this training is to really understand how do we keep the space clear? And while we're doing that, we have this other piece of like, how do we be the timekeeper? How do we be the time holder of going, okay, this is how much time these activities are taking. The share is going too long over here. How do I keep moving this along? Do I need to cut something out? Like you have to have this awareness. And so part of the training is going to be practicing because there's a lot of things energetically that you're juggling as the facilitator. And so sometimes we need to practice it out and practice it out and practice it out and practice it out some more so that you get really comfortable, like, all right, that person talked for five minutes and now everyone has this thinking that we're going to take five minutes a share as a facilitator. What can I do in this space? Or how could I prevent that type of thing happening next go around? How do I add in more intentions and boundaries? Like, there's a lot of things to hold to be a really clear, optimal facilitator.
Integration Time And Energetic Protection
SPEAKER_00So with a timekeeper too, is understanding like um, well, this is all in flow, right? So you're learning as you go. So you will start to recognize like, are you a two-hour facilitator? Are you a one hour? Are you a three hour, right? So for me, I I'm a two-hour, okay, and I can be a three hour, but it's uh one hour for me to do a full ceremony. I don't typically do that. I always go over. So I have learned that for myself, I need to do two hours. And I typically do it the same time every month, six to eight, you know, and so people know what my time frame is, they know what my schedule is, and then they're not late, they're there, you know. And so being the timekeeper is really important because you want to honor their time, but at the same time, you know. You're doing late classes or ceremonies, you don't want to be running in an hour late because you didn't timekeep, right? And there will be those people that will overshare. And so we will have a way of being able to practice how that looks when somebody is oversharing. And how do you remind the group that we're only sticking to a couple minutes or we're just doing a top, you know, takeaway or a key word or one phrase, you know? So you limit, you give them guidelines to say, we're just going to share one sentence. What's one sentence of something that you are excited to share today? You know, or what's one emotion that you're feeling that you're processing right now? And so you give them those limitations. So then they know within themselves that they have to dig deep to express the most that they can within the guidelines that you gave them. And then it is heart-led. It's all heart-led-based ceremonies. So when you are connecting from heart to heart, you know you're going to reach the right people. And that doesn't mean that you can't have like third eye activations or you're not going to work with the fire within and your solar plexus. You're working with all the energy centers, you're working with all of the elements. But when you're heart to heart, everything else gets to show up. It all comes online. So even if you're like, you know what, we're going to do this heart-based thing, but we are going to stand in our power, we're going to call in our names, we're going to call back our all of the pieces of ourselves, you're doing that, but knowing the container is all about being in your heart. And then to open and close sacred space with confidence. This goes back to even being the hold the um sacred space holder. When you can hold space for the container for others, that is so powerful in itself, right? Because you become the witness to what they're expressing. You get to see them. And so when you open and close sacred space with confidence and protection, that's what you're doing. So you'll learn how to open with calling in the directions, closing with calling the directions and giving thanks and gratitude to them. You're going to feel confident in doing so. You're going to bring in protection. You are going to wrap up that container with such a strong level of protection by calling in your guides, calling all of your protectors, so that as people are releasing, it's not being transferred to anyone else, right? It's being transmuted right there in the moment. It's being offered to the earth. It's going to source however you feel the need to give and take. So people aren't these open vessels sitting there in circle with open crowns and everyone's just receiving what everyone's putting down. So it's important to know how to protect your circle, creating altars. Um, altars are a big deal. They they anchor in the energy that you are bringing forward. They they show people like that. We're meaning business. Like altars represent business. Like we're here to do some sacred work, we're here to really show up. So the elements of altars will be taught as well. And you're gonna be creating your own altars and showing that to the group, and then facilitating a variety of spiritual topics. So this isn't just the six that you're gonna learn here in class. You're gonna be able to really hone in to what speaks to you, what tugs at your heart, what tugs at your spirit, what do you like? You know what? This really matters to me, whether it's working with women, whether it's doing grief groups, whether it's um like anything, anything that you really that's in your arena that you you know that you have some expertise to, that is a ceremony. Okay, you are a walking living ceremony. You just have to let that shine and let that come out, and then integrate your intentions. So a really good facilitator always gives time for integration at the end. People don't want to leave feeling heavy, feeling like, what do I do with all this energy or these emotions or whatever? We have to give time for them to ground it, for them to integrate it, to sit with themselves, to be in silence, right? And sometimes there's facilitators that as soon as you're done doing circle or or you come out of meditation and they just want to talk. Like now that it's like they're on their soapbox and they want to share all the things about their business. That's not the moment. This is the moment to be quiet. This is the moment to fill. This is the moment to self-cradle, to rock, to really self-nurture. That's what integration is about. The processing through journeying, journaling, through um lighting your candle or whatever your intention is set up for, but it's the time to process all of the emotions and the releases and messages that they received.
SPEAKER_01And I just have to say that um working with Chantel all these years, I have learned so much from her because there is a piece of the way she facilitates and is super aware of how the container is being held, especially when it comes to psychic protection, about what is available coming in and what is not. Like the the way that she really does hold space for the integration time. Like I absolutely love having Chantel um hold ceremony. Like, I really I feel like she is, I can't, I couldn't have a better person teach this class. And I really mean that from the like the my deepest part of who I am, my heart space, because she does it so incredibly well. And I have learned so much just by watching her hold ceremony. And I I have brought in things to my own ceremonial practice by working with Chantel. And so I just really want all those who are listening to know just like how incredible she is. And I have definitely been in numerous spaces, one with Chantel and Costa Rica and one more recently where space wasn't held well. And I'm very energetically sensitive. I am, I'm very energetically sensitive, and I will be rocked if the space holder isn't doing their job. And I can say that Chantel does a phenomenal job at space holding, and I know the difference between being in really healthy tight sacred spaces and those with very loose containers. And I consistently strive to hold the best container as possible for the intention at hand, and Chantel does that every single time.
Ceremony Types Moon Cacao Sound Money
SPEAKER_00Thank you so much. We appreciate that. Um, so the ceremonies that we will be learning through the this program are you're gonna learn about new moon and full moon ceremonies. Okay. And so new moon is all about manifestation, it's all about coming to a clean slate. Like there's the cycle of the full moon and the new moon. Okay. And so when you work with new moon, yeah, you are what do you want to grow? What are you calling in? What is your abundance, right? That's what new moon's about. And then full moon is what are you releasing? What are you burning away? Okay. So in that ceremony, you'll learn the cycles of the moon and why we why we go through that. Okay. So you'll feel real light during new moon and then full moon, you're like, whoo, what is going on? Yeah, you'll learn about that too. Um, elemental rituals, you're gonna do rituals with the four elements. How do you work with the seasons? How do you call those directions in? And how do you what is in place for them? What are the different ceremonies to walk work with? Water and air, earth, and um water, earth, fire, right? So you're gonna learn how to work with all four directions and all four elements to create a an amazing ceremony when it comes to rituals with elements, um, and just being in nature, calling in the earth. You know, it's funny because where I'm at, it's been windy and I've been talking to the wind for the last hour. I'm like, just calm down, give me an hour, give me an hour. And you know what? There's no wind out there. And I've been like just talking to I'm talking to the trees. I mean, can you just hold space for me for like one hour so I don't lose my Wi-Fi? And so you're gonna learn how to go and communicate with the elements to communicate with nature and know that nature listens to you. Um do you want to do cacao? Yes. And elements, um, yeah, building rituals around the four elements, land acknowledgement, like working with the land, um, seasonal elements. Love that one too. Yeah, working with herbs and burning. As you know, I like to burn, so I'll be teaching you all that stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I I personally love offering cacao ceremonies. It's something I do at least monthly in my community. And part of the cacao ceremonies are really tuning into the history and this as sacred medicine. How is this plant medicine really supporting having an open heart and having this open space of communication? So, this is a very heart-centered circle. And how to prepare the cacao is such an important piece. There's so much preparation, I feel like, with cacao ceremonies because you're singing to the this plant. You're you're preparing it in a certain way, you're feeding it what you want the experience to be for the group. And so the music, the invocations, the guided meditations, all of that is very much a key part and a key element to the cacao ceremony. And then you can actually integrate Reiki into this the ceremony itself. And the practice is very much a heart activation. It's a Reiki-infused heart activation where you're having an intuitive sharing circle. And so you might be passing around that talking stick, and we might be focusing on a specific topic, but you're really allowing the group to share from a very heart-centered space. This isn't about crosstalk. This isn't about giving other people advice. This is about allowing whatever topic is at hand. Like you can take a topic, for example, freedom, and everyone is sharing on that topic. Or you can take some of one of my women's groups, and it's like we're gonna talk about childbirth. Whatever it is, it's where you can really let that topic land within you and share in a heart-centered way of like, this is what's coming up for me on this topic. And so it is something that I have seen become more and more popular. And at the same time, there's more and more space for it because it's in higher demand. People want real spaces to have real intimate connections and communications. And cacao ceremonies is like the ideal space to do that. And I also love doing the sound baths, the drum circles, the Reiki circles. Those are also things that can be really heart-led and can provide a space for rebirth and grounding in those sound baths. The shamanic drum circle can really allow whatever is being held in the nervous system in the body to be woken up and released, and having those different sounds and elements to really help infuse the body. So learning how to offer sound baths and drum circles and Reiki circles can really help enhance your community connection and really learn how to find that rhythm of how to provide these things. What do you want to add to that, Chantel?
SPEAKER_00Um no, I think you did well, you did really well on all that. And so just know with Reiki, because Reiki can be infused in everything that you do, okay? And it should always be infused in everything that you do because it it amplifies everything. So if um you're feeling like you you have Reiki and you're you're like, well, can I add that? Absolutely. Add it, add it all. We're very much about you can merge all modalities. So if it calls to you, bring it because that means somebody is probably showing up that needs that. But then we have money mindset and candle ceremonies, which this is one of my favorites because I like to build money bowls. And so you're gonna create money bowls, you're gonna learn how to make money bowls, you're gonna work with the herbs, you're gonna work with the candles, you're going to um change the mindset, do the journaling and work through the um limiting beliefs of money, know that money is just energy, right? And when we can work with it as energy, and it's abundance and manifestation and all of that. So it's not just focused on like money itself, but it's about having an abundant life. Like, how can we thrive and not just survive? And that's what this one's about. And then the candle ceremonies, we're gonna bring in different colored candles and herbs and all of this. And so um, it's it's a really beautiful way to bring it. You can do candles literally in all of these. Okay, so you're going to learn the basics of candle ceremonies so that you can implement it in any ceremony that you do. And so um, if you look at the pictures, these are my four like personal pictures that I just wanted to share. So the top one with the drum, that was a cacao ceremony. So that was like we were drumming, we had our candle work, we had um our cacao and all of our intentions set up. And then the one next to it, that was all the women and people that showed up to do have their cacao ceremony, and they're watching their candles burn. So it's like not only did they create it, but then they were in the moment of releasing it, and it was such a beautiful ceremony. And then the bottom one is a community um candle or uh money bowl that I make. So at the beginning of every year, I create a money bowl, a community one at full moon, and we all put our intentions in it, and we all put in the herbs and our our fingers and we mix it up, and all of our medicine goes into it and all of our intentions and desires, and then I burn it from full moon to or for sorry, new moon to new moon for the first month. And that is the intention for the whole year, and then I I piece it out so then everyone can have some of the herbs and the rice and all the beautiful things that are in it if they want to take it home at the next month, but it's very intentional, so it's not just like okay, we're building this and tossing it. No, it's like, and we get to burn it and I rake it all month and with all those intentions, and um so these are some of the elements that you're gonna learn with these ceremonies. Is there anything else you want to add?
SPEAKER_01I think that I think that's the majority of it. I'll be making a little, I'll be adding in a bonus on blessing way ceremonies of really how to hold space for people going through life transitions, because that's something that I has near and dear to my heart with my midwifery background of instead of doing baby showers, how do you do blessing way ceremonies for the mother, honoring the mother and her transition into motherhood? So I you can do these the same type of thing for puberty, for menopause, for cronehood, like and so I love honoring life transitions as well. So that will be a little bonus offer that I'll create for this group.
Training Structure Practice Feedback Certification
SPEAKER_00That'll be a nice bonus. All right, so we're gonna be putting it into practice. So you're gonna go from the student to the facilitator. So we will be meeting twice a week for 90 minutes. So on Sundays and on Tuesday. So Sunday will be all the foundational part of the ceremony, and then the and Tuesday will be the time where you're gonna shine. This is gonna be your moment to facilitate a one of the ceremonies for all the whole group. And depending on how many people we have in the class, you might be able to do a couple of the ceremonies, but at least one ceremony you'll be able to host, and um you'll be able to have the outline and everything that you need to share with the group and ask us to bring. Can you bring these herbs, this candle, whatever it is, your drum, your, you know, um, not everybody has bowls, and that's okay, but we can get creative within the space. But each week a student will step into the role of the facilitator and lead a ceremony for the group. You'll put what you've learned into practice by guiding others through the ritual, building confidence and experience along the way. This is a chance to strengthen your skills, find your voice, and learn by doing in a supportive group setting. So you'll be supported by your peers, but at the same time, you're gonna get feedback, you're gonna build into your own confidence, you're gonna feel with what it feels like to put a ceremony together and all of the pieces and most of the stuff you're gonna have at home. You know, you might have to buy some tea lights or something, but other than that, you should have most of the ingredients or the pieces at home. So it's not like it's gonna cost a lot out of pocket, but it's gonna get you creative. It's gonna get those juices flowing. So then you're like, I'm gonna come to class now, and you get to be the facilitator and lead us all through a ceremony or a ritual.
SPEAKER_01So part of the cool thing about this is I um just a few months ago, I did our facilitating facilitator training 101. Like it was a first set before the ceremonial piece came in. And this is the part where you really are doing the learning and building confidence. So often we have students come in and their number one struggle is like, I don't have confidence in myself or I think I'm gonna mess it up and I don't want to mess it up. And so doing the practice piece of it is what builds the confidence. It's what makes you feel like I know what I'm doing, I messed it up in the safe space so that now when I go and do it for my community, I know what I'm getting myself into. I know how long it takes, I know what I need to do. And this practice is what makes progress. Like practice doesn't make perfect, but it doesn't make perfection, it makes progress. And so if you are like, I want to do this, but I don't think I'm ready to be doing these things for my community. This is why this program is so potent, is because you will have the actual actual hands-on time to go, all right, I'm I'm now I've got this ceremony that I'm doing and this ceremony doing for this group. And when I come forward, I'm gonna learn because you and you get the feedback. So I'm all about having really healthy constructive feedback so that you learn this is where I went too fast, or this is where I needed to go slower, or I needed to speed it up, or um, I'm I forgot and I said this thing and that didn't really land well, or whatever it is. You have this really beautiful space of going, I'm using my voice and I'm going to step into it and I'm gonna be freaking nervous and I and I'm I'm gonna be sweaty and I'm like, I don't know what I'm gonna do, and all of those things. Like, feel it all in this space. Like, do it all here so that the next time you do it for your community, it's like, oh, I I'm calmer now, I'm more confident in it. I know what to do. I know that I'm gonna have a community I can come back to to ask more questions. And so this is this is what makes it really different than let's say a one-off um, you know, online DIY, like learn all of the things. And you're because even if you took this a course online, it's not going to have this piece. The reason why this is an intensive, why I call it an intensive, is because you're expected to show up and do the work. It's not something that you're going to be able to just slip under the radar. These are small intimate courses for reason and purpose. We don't want to have 20, 30 students because then we wouldn't have the practice in them, which is so why we get to have such a uh it really is an intimate connection and communication with you because we're honoring you, we're watching you, we're supporting you as you step into this leadership role as a facilitator, as a practitioner. And so we have we've this is our second facilitator training, and we will be offering the the three of them. This is supposed to be a three-part series. We'll be offering them all again, and so that if you do take all three in whatever order, it doesn't matter, then you'll be certified as a moon rising facilitator. And so know that if you want to be certified, that is how you do it.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So from the um, just to kind of put out there for the next one is going to be all about um putting your space together. And so there's so much to this, and it's well-rounded. And so I love that she's explaining that part of you coming. It's yeah, you're gonna be in action. And so this is a place, like I say, you're gonna lay it on the altar. All your anxieties, all your stresses, all your doubts, all your anything, you get to come to class and put it on the altar and step back and say, that no longer applies to me. That I you're creating a new contract with the universe, saying I don't need to be nervous anymore because I've already put myself forward, I've already done it, right? And so this is a great way to really step into that facilitator role and in a safe space, in a place that you know that you can be open, you can make the mistakes, and it's okay. And you know what? People don't even know that you made a mistake when you even make a mistake, unless you put it out there. You know, it's really easy to it's To kind of rewrap it and make it look like you meant to do that, you know? And so it's okay. And if you do actually make a mistake, you just know it for the next time and it's all good. But there really is no mistakes and ceremony because it's kind of like whatever shows up, shows up. And it's meant to. If you believe in purpose and you believe in alignment and even like the wrong words come out, but you're like, there's a reason why that word came out, there's a reason why it showed up like that. You know, whatever the message is, it's all good. So it's just trusting in yourself to say yes to you and that you can be the facilitator as well.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Yay. If you have any questions, please reach out to Chantel or myself. And we hope to see you starting on Sunday.
